    Raw Wheat Supplies& Barley Seeds?

Good work chef. Love seeing people mucking around with their own grains. Planning to malt again myself, but havnt been arsed yet. Your thread inspires me to get back into it.Single source attempt +1 that feed barley is identical to malt sometimes. We grow malt variety which passed regulary &...

How Old Are You? How Long Have You Been Hbing?

Let be real here. A chart of age vs australian inventors or colours of ponies on the world equestrian teams, would satisfy as a content to survey and represent data at a school level, and might inspire an interest in something elevated. If the student is being offered a choice on what to...

How Old Are You? How Long Have You Been Hbing?

I agree re: the content being suitable for children & am amused that it took until post #69 to come up! Regardless of how flashy the data presentation, what are you saying about your ethics to your teacher & community by this content. Off my soabox. Ironically, I capped my first home brewed...

Just do it. Temp control can be ice & laundry tub but keep it LOW Fridgemate from CraftBrewer very handy...

    Hops Growing; Describe Your 'terrior'

Kymba: yields based on what I got off first year. Poor by comparison to the more voracious varieties. My poor performers both yielded less than 1L bucket full. They barely topped 2m by end of season. (cascade & Columbus) Neither have jumped yet this year. Both were wintered in the ground...

    Hops Growing; Describe Your 'terrior'

Fark. Oh well. Doubt I would have pronounced it correctly in person either! If I ever figure out how to edit titles, I'll fix it. Shoulda really just said "Wot works in Qld?" or "wotz your most/least hardy hops" Clearly was too sober that arvo. Cheers for the info so far. I think Mt Hood...

2011 Hop Plantations, Show Us Your Hops!

Coulda. Have plenty on hand. The SS wire goes through a pulley & down 1 pole so it can all be lowered or tightened. String is looped over wire twice & supports 2 bines each. The weight of the plants keep the line tight.

Refilling Co2 Cylinders In Toowoomba Or Darling Downs

Also; gauge could say anything depending on the temp and atmospheric pressure. Not a definate scale unless that is factored in. 25 bucks a fill for about 6 months use & convenience of walk in & fill- it's a no brainer Mate of mine went the BOC rental. Spends more in rent per year than I do in gas

Refilling Co2 Cylinders In Toowoomba Or Darling Downs

Local HBS is the only place other than BOC to get CO2 in Twmba. Apparently even BOC ship to fill. $25 to fill the small bottle. Best price in town, only filler in town. Easy decision. You can't drive to gatton from dalby & beat those prices + travel. They stock 'keg on legs' but will fill any...

    Hops Growing; Describe Your 'terrior'

Out of interest to my own hops garden and for others considering starting out, I'd like to know others successes / failures compared to region. When I collected my rhizomes from the net, the best info I got from a fellow AHB forum member also in QLD was "the american's". This turned out to be...

2011 Hop Plantations, Show Us Your Hops!

I found cones only from about 6' upwards. Also found they don't seem to like horizontal as much as vertical. Best yields were on the tallest plants
