It appears that he may of been spooked by MKOL (or others) as has not got back to me as promised...I will give him a ring tomorrow to see what is happening.....stay tuned.

Hi All, I am looking to upgrade my two handheld (over the side) immersion elements to a fixed 4800W element for the kettle. I am also thinking of putting in a simmerstat (20 amps) or equivalent. I am planning to put the element in my newly acquired 120L pot (old asian noodle pot)...to do 50-60...

I spoke to Karl today as well....he was the one that put me on to sera's bulk buy. He indicated that if we get the numbers then the price would be cheaper than 250 + GST.

It appears that MKOL and others (home brew stores) are not happy about cheaper cylinders being available to the average joe....It shouldn't of surprised me....anyone want to own up ;) ?

I though I would post a pic of the cylinder just in case anyone else wants to get one....maybe get more interest for a 10+ buy. The cylinder is manufactured by Catalina and is a B20 - 9.1kg. As you can see (below) it is bigger (but not too big) than my BOC offering. If there are any more...

Hi Unterberg, I could not hang out for 10+ because my BOC cylinder ran out (must of been karma)....i picked up the new cylinder this evening. I was pretty impressed with the cylinder....a 9KG catalina cylinder (the same manufacturer of MKOL cylinders but bigger) and it was pressure...

Thanks for the info. I think i will attempt to make my brew frame with the stick...brew frame is in my back shed and i am guessing that the mild steel will be cheaper than SS. Eventually I would like to be capable enough to handle SS....hence the TAFE courses.

Decided to go the welding option...Found out my brother has a stick welder and thought I would get a couple of lessons off him. I also want to do a welding course at TAFE but have to wait until the second half of the year. There are three courses to choose from (similar to the type of welding)...

But wait that's not all...you also get a free set of steak knives... :P ...another shameless bump BTW: The gas guy said that he's happy to allow for people to pick these cylinders up themselves...so you can check them out before buying. If we get another 6 (10 in total) people by tomorrow...
