    Reusing yeast - experiment.

After racking the original batch I had a bit left that wasn't worth bottling, so I swigged it. It was bitter and sour, but I've tasted worse, and it didn't taste overly yeasty. I'm looking forward to comparing this batch with a batch of apple cider/champagne yeast and apple blackcurrent...

    Reusing yeast - experiment.

I've racked out the cider from the original fermenting bottle, leaving about an inch of cider and sediment. Reusing yeast - experiment.

Hi guys. Looking for input. My first cider batch is pretty much done. I've carefully poured out a litre of cider from the fermenting bottle into a jug, primed and bottled it. Advice with first cider.

You may have been bang on the money there. I took a sip off the top with a straw, and it's definitely fermented. I've drained a bit off the top and bottled it with 4g of brown sugar to prime. I'll give the rest a week and see how it goes. If I get a bottle bomb, I'll know it hadn't finished...

    Advice with first cider.

Hi all. Long time lurker, first time poster. I started my first batch of apple cider on Wednesday April 18. It was a bog easy recipe, more dipping my toe in the water rather than jumping in the deep end. Essentially it's a 3L bottle of juice, slightly emptied, pitched with some bakers yeast...
