    Tooheys Real Ale Suggestions

Try 1/2kg of raw sugar, 1/2 kg of dry malt. The sugar is better with a kit yeast. 1 kg of malt is harder for the kit yeast to work through. Try and find a decent brew shop and pay the extra $1 for a kit because for the $1 you'll get heaps of free advice. Happy brewing :)

Coopers Extra Strong Vintage Ale (2006)

Ash, You are the bearer of good news. I must grab atleast 6 and age a few (cricky that's the hard bit :) ) My homebrew supplier in Toodyay made an copy of Coppers ESVA using the Munton's 1.5kg barley wine. What temperature would you sup it at? I've got a huge piece of beef to roast in the...

    Are They Scared Of Flavour?

Oh Jimmy, Jimmy, Jimmy! Your comparison is clever and appreciated however when did music become as dire as the early 1980's beer scene in Perth? Red or green mate! Really good beer is so joyous I'll tell anyone who cares to listen and I have had quiet a few wins too. I use the dripping water...

    Are They Scared Of Flavour?

Go the Coopers Pale, because its top fermented in the traditional manner (not engineered by lab techs). in addition, the company survived the severe economic rationalism of the 80's. Cooper's Sparkling would be in my top two favourite beers. How many products have a "best after" sticker on...

    Are They Scared Of Flavour?

I make you right Ash, real Eurpean lagers are as good as anything and then it's down to choice. I wouldn't put mass produced "beer" in the same bracket. (I am a self confessed beer snob :)) I find them artifically chemically after drinking real beer. Ferals on a sunny winters day is very...

    Are They Scared Of Flavour?

I certainly recognise the taste in German lagers and don't mind a beer world with Toohey's Extra dry in it but give me the full beer spectrum not just very light yellow lagers. I was over-joyed to find Feral's Belgium White on tap at the noble falls pub. Selling that well they are bringing...

    Are They Scared Of Flavour?

Great to hear that we there are a few of us who like the taste of beer. That wallpaper lager dominates the Australian landscape which is sad when you do trip over coopers' sparkling or toohey's old and its good beer. Is there a real ale community in Australia who cask beer? I like to keg and...
