    Gushing Bottles Of Stout

I made a stout at the end of may, a basic K+K type reciepe with an OG of 1052 and it got down to 1016 seven days later so I racked it to a cube and there it stayed for 3 weeks before I bottled it. It has been in the bottle now for around 2 weeks and I tried a few last night, both bottles frothed...

Yeah, I know what you mean about Bunnings. it is close and convenient but I will not pay over the odds for the copper coil there. I will be buying the tap and compression fittings for my converted keg there this weekend though. Roll on all grain.

    Scrap Metal Dealers Brisbane

I did not know where to post this so if it is in the wrong place I apologise to those offended. I am looking to make an IC but almost dropped dead when I saw Bunnings wanted over $100 to make a good size chiller with a pre chiller, that has led me to try scrap dealers in the south Brisbane area...

    Coopers Two Can Long Ferment

Yeah, sounds like good advice. Being only my 7th HB I was quite suprised that it is still going after 8 days, all my previous kits have finished after 3-4days so this has suprised me a bit but I will wait it out and hope to get it down to 1014. Too sweet you reckon? I don't mind a bit of...

    Making an immersion chiller

That is a nice setup you have there Batz. I am looking at building a 3 tier gravity fed job and what you have there has given me a few things to think about. Where did you get the metal for the framework from and was it expensive? Does it take the weight easily? Cheers.

2 Tins Of Coopers Ingredients, Nothing More.

I put down a two can screamer last Saturday, I added a few bits and pieces to spice it up a bit. It comprised of 2 cans of Coopers stout, 1kg DME, 500g brown sugar, 250g lactose and two sachets of saf04. Hopefully it will turn out drinkable but if not I will drink it anyway  The...

    Sodium Percarbonate

Being a relative newbie to HB I use plain unscented homebrand bleach leave things soak for a while, sometimes a while longer if I forget  and thoroughly rinse with a hose with one of those jet attachments on the end, does the trick. I am pretty sure it was John Palmer who advocated...

    Kettle Taps

I have had a look through some of the archives here and on other sites and have found loads of good information relating to how to fit kettle taps but not a lot on what the taps should or should not be made of. I was at bunnings today and they have a fair choice of taps, I don't know what they...

Free Keg. How To Open It.

I did try to attach this to the last post, lets see if this works. This is the keg I took to with an angle grinder this morning, not the neatest job but nothing I can't sort out with an iron file. If I can do it anyone can as I am the most hap hazard when it comes to tools, especially power...
