    Stalled Fermentation

Okay, so I repitched it today with my spare yeast. Rehydrated first then poured in slowly and delicately so I don't make it bubble. Gave it a quick swizzle and locked it up again. Lets hope it starts bloody working now.

    Stalled Fermentation

I forgot to mention - and I don't know if it makes a difference - but both kit's were out of date by a fair shot when I made them up. I went and bought new yeast to work with them and the bloke at the brew shop said they should be perfect as long as the inside of the cans looks in good nick -...

    Stalled Fermentation

^So pitching new yeast is possible then? I have another/spare 6g bag of Morgans Ale yeast which I was thinking of splitting between the Lager and Draught to kick start it again. I was going to rehydrate it this time though before pitching to get some faster activation... Or should I just...

    Stalled Fermentation

I think I read somewhere that Maltodextrin doesn't fully ferment - if this is the case, could it just be that this is my final gravity? Might be a stupid question, but thought I'd ask anyway - it's 2 weeks since I put them in and I thought Ales would have been ready to bottle by now...

    Stalled Fermentation

Do that every time I rinse it. Definitely floats at 1.000.

    Stalled Fermentation

Both brews were about 22ish litres. As for temps, may have deviated +/- 2. But as far as I know they should have been fairly stable. Have a heater pad to warm them if the night is really cold - but I haven't really had to use it.

    Stalled Fermentation

Hey all, Just have a bit of a problem. I've put on my 2 first brews on on the 30/09/10 and they're still in the fermenter waiting to hit 1.010 or below. I don't know how to get them started up again. Details are...

    Hunter Pale Ale

Just got back from the Hunter on the weekend and stopped into the brewery for a chat and a taste. The Pale Ale is nice, but the Bock made my taste buds go wild. Brought back 2 bottles to share with some mates... Rich coffee like flavours. Damned shame though - went there to try their award...

What Are You Aussie's Drinking, Anyway?

I'd say the move from VB to Corona is simply a ditch attempt of bogans trying to appear sophisticated... Personally they're both crap beers. Although I've noticed amongst my friends a strong move from local "chump" beers to import EU beers. Dan Murphy's range and the accessibility has...

    Beginner Question

Thanks for the replies everyone! The Yeast was just Morgans Ale Yeast which I picked up from Daves Brew Shop in Nth Syd. Great shop by the way. Will leave my beer to stew for a bit after she stabilises. Although I just realised I probably posted this in the wrong forum - oh well... Thanks for...

    Beginner Question

Hey All. First off I should introduce myself, my name is Marc, and I've just started to home brew with a hand-me-down kit (2 fermenters, 3 kits, 180 bottles and all the other bits and pieces). I used to brew back when I was 15 at a friends house, but back then brewing was about making alcohol...
