    First brew Bootmaker

As above, the beasts are awake and starting to clean up the remaining sugars, give it a week and take a gravity, if it is down to final reading put it back into the fridge and start lowering the temp. This will allow it to drop clear, you are back in charge, Cheers, Ken.

    First brew Bootmaker

Great Hitman AU, now open the insulation during the warm periods in that room and close it during the night, don't be afraid to give it a good stir to equalize the temperature through out the whole FV. I have a heat pad inside my fermenting fridge and a fan to circulate the air plus a...

    First brew Bootmaker

Hitman, Do not bottle yet as it hasn't finished fermenting, get the temperature of your FV up to 20 degrees and your final gravity should finish around 1.010 to 1.012. Brewtech SS fermenting vessels discussion thread

Recently got a Brew Bucket and wasn't happy with the way the ball valve assembly sealed, "o" rings don't seal properly on chamfered faces and a curved surface, too many are having leak problems so I rolled up at the Tool Room where I worked before I retired. We have all seen the nuts that are...

    Will peroxide kill yeast?

I know this is an old thread but be very aware of what strength of Peroxide solution you are using, the common bottle from the supermarket is 3% by volume and is quite safe to use. Pharmacies have stronger mixtures but only at 6%, Peroxide is used in certain industrial applications at up to...

    Strange carbonation issue!

Matt, i had a similar problem and found that the valve in the gas post was not being fully opened by the centre pin in the quick connect, ie a very small ammount of gas is getting through the valve but not enough to fully carbonate the beer, hope this helps, Cheers, Ken.
