    VICBREW 2014

Thanks Andy, any idea when we can expect to see the comp results if we didn't enter online?

    VICBREW 2014

Brewed my winning IIPA in a $50 plastic fermenter, a $60 plastic bucket tun and an $80 aluminium 22L pot on my crappy stovetop in my kitchen and got 120.5pts. Thanks Martin, I'll take mine down on Friday.

    VICBREW 2014

Thanks Martin. I'll have to work out how to get out to my drop-off point then, none of them are close to Coburg... And the drugs don't work, they just make me worse...

When will we find out where to drop the beers off? I'm excited!

    VICBREW 2014

Thanks for everyone who judged this competition, and all the stewards who got free beer and food (kidding). Seems I (Martin Pribble) took out the gong for best IPA with a not too shabby score of 120.5, which I am stoked about, because I've never entered a beer in a competition before, and I...

    El Dorado

I'm about to do a hoppy red ale with El Dorado as the hero, along with a healthy serve of Centannial and Columbus. It's an attempt at a clone of Black Market's "Invasion" Imperial Red. I'm looking forward to the results. Recipe here at BrewToad (no affiliation)...

    Whats this for?

It fits in the back of your plastic tap, facing upward, to keep the trub from flowing directly into the outlet. It should just slot in there. EDIT: Here's an image of it of place (from a google search)

Strongest ABV% commercial Aussie beer ?

Moondog JTS is the biggest locally produced beer I have found. I liked it so much I bought 3 bottles and cellared them. On a different note, my favourite higher alc local beer I've tried recently was "The Druid" by 3 Ravens. Only 11% (!!) but an amazing brew, if you like the more...

    VICBREW 2014

A quick (maybe stupid) question about judging. There are 25 prize categories, some with as many as 9 subcategories. Are prizes given to the main categories only taking the subcategories as part of the main category, or are they awarded to the subcategories? EG is there an award for 17.2 Saison...

    Hello from Melbourne Australia

@ DJ_L3ThAL Yeah I've been to his shop before, he's pretty good from my experience too. But the convenience of getting it delivered is just too good. Means I have to be organised and know exactl what I want to make. @ Forever Wort I might have to check that out. My missus is a bit miffed at me...

Comment by 'scientzing4beer' in media 'Stainless discoloration'

I reckon PWB might remove that from your stainless. It will strip back to metal, which as stated above, will re-oxidise over time. I personally don't like to scrub anything for dear of micro-fissures that can harbor nasties, but it's probably ok on stainless. It works a treat on my...
