    It's both the tap and the quality improvement i think. I did make a few nice extract batches but AG blows it out of the water

    Same with me. Kegging makes a difference - at least to the appearance of the beer too. I'm back to bottles and I'm missing clarity and keg-hopping.
    Just did a hydo reading of my first fermented AG Beer..had a taste out of the hydro, and all i can say is...Goodbye extract.
    And the first AG woes continure. no fermentation after 48 hours so p itched more yeast. Given the whole cubing debacle im surprised nothing else was growing in there yet
    So as a side effect of my not using a ball for flowers, 4 litres of trub made it into the fermenter, most assuredly covering the tap. i'ts going to be fun trying to keg this.
    mash went well. boil went well. but i forgot one thing...i used flowers without a sock/ball. guess what happened to my ball valve. fml. just cubed it tohugh. that took way longer than t should have

    Yob ..afaic it is important for a first time BIAB'er. If oyur getting a 20*c hydro reading of 1.024 from 6kilos of grain something is wrong. By keeping track of the numbers i know this. Btw i used all 'yob hops' today...

    lol..yeah, numbers are good to get a handle on things if it isn't going to plan, my point was it changes and isn't the be all and end all, more often than not (for me) it's misguiding to have 'fixed' numbers

    Thats fair enough.
    Just replaced the tap on the urn with a bulk head, ball valve and hosetail. For a man who has no upper body strength i did alright.
    $900 later I've upgraded from extract to urn BIAB(tap replaced) and a kegerator which doubles as temp control ferment. In dog house for a while, but i've got plenty o beer

    I kegged one the other night and it was drinking in 10 minutes... awesome
    2 brews within 12 hours of each other. I'm stuffed, but it's going to be so worth it. (I can hear my liver crying)

    To make good beer one must know their ingredients. Hence, my all cluster ipa to get to know cluster. What can i say, the floral notes are similar to cascade but instead of citrus upfront its pine. and less intense than cascade over all. Based in my tasting i'd say it'd do good in a dark beer

    That being said, ii dont think i personally like cluster at this level of hopping. We will see how she is in a month.
    Why is amarillo as popular with brewers as bieber is with insecure girls? I got my hands on a half kilo so im going to find out why you are all have a hard-on for this hop. I hope it ws worth the effort of obtaining it

    Epic's Hop Zombie. Aroma screams cscade / Centennial but in terms of taste its only there if you hold it in your mouth. If you don't, zero taste. A little disappointing, then again i may just be drunk

    Disregard, I waas quite wasted. Fun was had with american imports though.
    93 hours after pitching, i finally have a krausen. Didn't pitch any additional yeast either. Was fair worried.
