These are Perle, I've got Fuggles which did not perform as well in the heat, and goldings which has just as much on it as the Perle.

    Hops Harvesting

Well I couldn't wait any longer. I've started to harvest. I had a good look here; http://www.homebrewjunkie.com/search?q=lupilin+gland and he has quite a few great tips on what to look for and I figure mine meet those criteria. Has anybody else in Perth metro harvested their hops? Mine have a...

    Modified Kegerator Tap For Sparklets

Hi, I was disappointed when I got my kegerator as the fonts would not allow the use of a sparklet (creamer) and I do like my kilkenny to get that nice smooth head that results with there use. So I wandered on down to PG Watsons engineering and handed them the tap from the kegerator, handed...

Where To Find S/s Springs ?

Boynes is the way to go. Take in one of your springs and he will wind it in SS to suit. As a note SS316 does not spring, which means all springs contain impurities of other metals to make it spring, which means they will corrode. They will be better that standard, but they will corrode non the less.

    Growth Height Of Hops

And I thought mine were looking good, Dr Smurto's beating me hands down! Oh well I guess next year will be the competition.... Added horizontal rows now and started to train them across those, will report back with piccies in a month or so, hey I'd like to see more piccies of other hop set...

    Growth Height Of Hops

The row they are in is east to west. East being the brick wall at the back, and cascade is suffering a little back there without getting as much sun. But if I train them horizontally along the thread that is already there won't they get all mixed up and when it comes to harvest then it'll be a...

    Growth Height Of Hops

Hi, Got a some rhizomes and got them in the ground 4 weeks back. I set them up with a 3m to climb, and alas 3 of them have hit the top already, 1 died and the other is just starting to shoot. So I read that some people take them to 6m, and I have no doubt that they would go that far....the...

    Real Ale Dispensing Gear

Something I've never tried and always wanted to do was make and dispense a real ale. I've got my keg set up, fridge and so forth but my fondest memories of drinking are the ales I had in the UK and this set up is just not going to do it with this forced carbonation. So first of all, I'll need a...

    Local Pub Draught Fittings

Not sure if you got this sorted, but its actually an easy one. BSP comes in 2 flavours, BSPT and BSPP, t=tapered, p=parallel. Yours looks BSPP. You need to talk to a hydraulics mob. Not sure where you are, but Enzed, Pirtek are Oz wide. The fitting supplied will come from the manufacturer PH. PH...

    New Liquid Yeasts In Perth?

If you guys want to get the yeast east then you are going to have to convince your local HBS. For now that means asking them to supply, which means you will have to be willing to pay around $1-1.50 more per vial for the postage and packing. Running a poll as to which yeasts you would like to use...

    New Liquid Yeasts In Perth?

There is 1x 10^9 cells per millilitre in the yeast slurry. I worry when I see people adding less than the full amount, only as some have not shaken them up thoroughly before using them, and don't get the amount of cells that they think are using, and then results vary. As long as you shake them...

    New Liquid Yeasts In Perth?

The equivalent of the WLP530 is PRO-87. The PRO-10 is a WLP001 equiv. A lot of the yeasts behave in the way you mention. They chomp into the simple sugars first, increase in cell quantity, and then slow and get into chewing through the earlier by products and more complex sugars. Cheers Colin

    New Liquid Yeasts In Perth?

Gudday guys, Colin here from Proculture. I'm putting together an FAQ just now and the website should be up hopefully by the end of the week if all goes well. We haven't been hiding, if you had asked Brian @ Malthouse to get us to contact you I am sure he would have passed on the contact...
