    Wiring A Flow Controller

At a glance, they are both PWM controllers, however PWM stands for Pulse width modulated, which means it switches on and off (sort of like an oven when it is trying to reach a specific temperature). The amount of time it is on versus the amount of time it is off determines the speed (so if it is...

    Wtb: Auberins 40a Ssr

Start with the basics, check the supply voltage is being switched from the PID (12V across the + and - terminals). Make sure the supply voltage and current is sufficient to trip the SSR (they will usually have a range 5-32Vdc or similar), Check the Low voltage supply has sufficient current...

    Wtb: Auberins 40a Ssr

its a pretty simple concept.. + and - is like A and N. One is the source the other the return. Slightly concerning that such a simple mistake could be made... No wonder ELCB's are mandatory.

    Wtb: Auberins 40a Ssr

Understand your pain, they are expensive. It all comes down to time versus money. The only positive is they usually arrive overnight from Jaycar... not much help for the weekend though.

    Vacuum Food Sealer (cryovac)

I have done 3 seasons of hops in the sunbeam VAC440, never had any issues, always seals well and no deterioration in the hops. As for bags, I have always just used the sunbeam ones (I do meat, jerky, hops etc) and never had an issue. Admittedly I always use those because I have been too lazy...

    A Couple Of Rookie Questions

Honestly if you want something drinkable, I would skip on the Coopers kits and duck down to your local home brew shop. Even if it is just starting simple with kit and kilo, there is a huge difference in quality. Best bet for starting out would be buy a kit, buy a kilo of complex sugars (malt...

cheers to that, imagine the productivity i can get out of this heat... I am betting on a brew a day!!! It's only my poor hops that are going to suffer out of this, morning and evening showers for them.

    Warm Enough To Brew?

40 in ipswich yesterday, surely that should be warm enough and I won't need a heat belt... what with the aircon running and a heat belt Julia is sure getting her carbon tax cut!

    Washing Beer Glasses?

Even using a metal scourer, most metal scourers shouldn't have a hardness of more than 5 whereas glass is around 5.5, so it shouldn't scratch the glass. If your worried just buy a few of the teflon scourers.
