    Cleaning/restoring The Bbq Hotplate

Well thanks to this thread I went out and did a complete clean of the barbie including a new ignition switch, oiled trolley, new fat absorber etc. What I can't believe from all the "SO CALLED EXPERTS" is that not 1 of you mentioned the most important part of getting the bbq spotless...

    Emegency Capping Question

Thanks all - esp. you vlbaby - I needed peace of mind. In the end I only used a dozen or so stubbys - the rest PET bottle. Had a little taste test and it's shaping up nicely so even a dozen lost would bring tears to the eyes :P

    Emegency Capping Question

No - I have decided to use whatever PET bottles I can scrounge and then use the rest in bottles - that way i can see uif it is okay and if it's not at least I won't lose too much. Interested in peoples opinions though so if anyone does have any ideas let me know. Cheers. I'm off to bottle.

    Emegency Capping Question

Yes it's a stock standard capper using "soft" caps for twist tops. They appear nice and tight - ie I can't tighten them any further and they don't just drop off - but they unscrew very easily - a lot more easily than a commercial beer. I'm guessing once it gasses it will be fine but was hoping...

    Re-using Plastic Bottles

Thanks all. Am about to bottle my Pilsener after 2 weeks of cc'ing and then am putting down one of Grumpys Master Kits (Boston Cream) - everyone seems to rave about it so I thought I'd give it a go. Just wanted to make sure I wouldn't lose any beer to a stupid thing like bad caps!

    Re-using Plastic Bottles

A quick question - and it may be a stupid one at that. If reusing the plastic bottles supplied with my kit do I need to buy some more tops for a better seal or can you get away with also re-using the original screw tops?

    Lager Help

I'm about to start my 2nd ever brew- a Pilsener. I have checked the temperature in my 2nd fridge and it seems the thermostat is buggered... regardless of setting (ie coldest/warmest or middle) it gives a fairly standard 10 degree temperature. As I understand it this is perfect for the...
