    Beer Recipe Spreadsheet

Some time ago I stumbled across an Excel spreadsheet on the Internet that had over 1000 clone recipe formulations. It used a number of the recipes from the Protz/Wheeler books. I have since lost my copy and I'm wondering if anyone else has a copy. I have tried Googling but no luck. A friend is...

    Yeast..

Hi Lindsay, Where did you get your yeast culturing gear? I keen to start yeast farming but can't find a medical supplies type outfit that will sell me the gear here in New Zealand. Do you know if there is anyone in Oz who will sell via the internet?

    Orval --- Coopers

I think its great that you can pitch the dregs of Orval and get the Brett character in a reasonable time. You get the joy of drinking a top notch beer before putting the little critters to work! Time to come up with a recipe - maybe an English stock ale or Saison...

    Orval --- Coopers

So has anyone tried adding a bottle or 2 of Orval to a keg to get Brett coming through with a beer? Is just one bottle of Orval sufficient? Sounds like an interesting approach... Brendon

    Wlp300 And Sulphur

Yep, ditched the first batch purely on smell - I thought it was infected as I haven't had that with any of my other beers! It is definetly sulphur and not phenols. It's a warm ferment and is producing a good proportion of banana. I will try lagering this one and see if it remedies but I am quite...

    Wlp300 And Sulphur

Hi, I have now tried two wheat beers with a lack of success - both have suffered from the same problem, a massive amount of sulphur being vented off during the ferment. For the first batch, I used wyeast 3068 (made a 1 litre starter, fermented at 20 degrees). It was an absolute sulphur bomb so...
