    Lagering

Thanks for the responses guys, much appreciated. So would I be correct in stating that lagering in the primary will give the same taste as if I racked it, but risks a bit more sediment? Also, what temperature should I drop it down to to properly lager? Thanks again, M

    Lagering

Hello, I posted this over in the kits section but didn't get a response. Can anyone help me here? Thanks, M Hi Folks, I've got a couple of questions about lagering. Does lagering effect the taste or does it just make the beer clearer? Do I need to rack the beer or can I just leave...

    Lagering

Hi Folks, I've got a couple of questions about lagering. Does lagering effect the taste or does it just make the beer clearer? Do I need to rack the beer or can I just leave it in the fermenter and drop the temp? I've got a Cooper's Australian Bitter with S23 on at the moment; what would...

    Ales For Summer

As the topic states, I'm wondering if anyone has made any ales that go down really well during summer? Since I got my temperature controller a few months ago I've been churning out lagers and it's time for a little change. I'd like something that's very refreshing and easy to knock back. Any...

DOH! Cancel that. Just realised you're kegging not bottling.

    Delayed Start

It's still not fermenting at 18C (though it might just be starting; I think I can see a Krausen starting but the lid is opaque so it's hard to say). I used two packets (11g per packet?) for a 46L brew. I hydrated the yeast for 30 minutes before pitching and it looked healthy. Let her sit at...

    Delayed Start

I'm having a similar issue at the moment though this isn't due to a poor seal. I pitched S34/70 yeast at 10C on Saturday. I've kept the brew at 10C the whole time and today there's still no activity. I hydrated the yeast before pitching and it seemed fine. Never had one take this long to get...

Kit And Extract Without The Kit?

Could anyone point me towards a free guide on how to do this kind of brewing? Thanks, M

Lager Kits - Yeast And Other Questions

How about the Morgan's Lager yeast? Is that a true lager yeast that can be fermented at low temperatures? thanks, M

    Coopers Mexican Cerveza

Yeah, I've used true lager yeasts like S23 before. These Morgan's "lager" yeast packets are from the tins I've used different yeast with. I was really wondering if the Morgan's yeast (blue packet) is a true lager yeast that will ferment at low temperatures? Yeah, that sounds like a good one...

    Coopers Mexican Cerveza

Thanks for that Katie! How does the flavour of the lime go in the long haul? I'm after a very subtle flavour. M

    Coopers Mexican Cerveza

Just bought this kit. What do you recommend for getting a subtle lemon flavour through the beer? Fresh lemons? How many and what's the procedure? Also, I've a got four 6g packs of Morgan's Lager yeast in the fridge. What these work with this beer if I fermented at 10C? Thanks, M

    New Kit: Coopers European Lager

Don't know if the Bavarian is done but I've also seen on special at Coles. At K-Mart it was $9.90! Not bad for pretty reasonable kit with real lager yeast.

    Sos On An Ipa Brew

IPAs are very bitter beers and usually take a good amount of time to properly condition. Bottle it and try it again in s minimum of six week's time; if it tastes like arse, then you may have had an infection. However, I think that you'll be pleasantly surprised. :icon_chickcheers: M
