    yes its possible, but BBQ's are notorious for food poisoning so more likely the food caused it, but it is possible that there was a "bad bug" in that one bottle... i'd linky link to my post in K&K on water filtration but i don't know how yet

    :excl: water can be a problem...... do NOT use it immediately after rainfall unless you are going to use a decent filter & disinfectant or boil the ENTIRE amount to pasteurise it. your rainwater may be contaminated with pathogens (disease causing organisms) immediately following a rain event...

    so any compounds that would be the cause of "off flavours" in the old kit would be volatile enough to boil out? that would be good, saves wasting the can. i was planing on adding dry malt or a can of malt instead of sugar anyway as thats how i usually batch it up and i'll be able to pick up some...

    those are all great ideas, there're wouldn't be any problem with you using the water on plants etc as it would be essentially grey/recycled water, just hang out a sign when your running the water on the lawn "grey water in use". but if you are putting it through the washing machine then...
