Hawthorn Brewing Co - Australian IPA recipe

Hi again all. Just looking for some critique on my below attempt at something similar to this beer. This is my first attempt at making my own recipe so it's probably way off. I've used a basic gran bill taken from the Hophog IPA Clone recipe, and created a hop bill based on piraterum's advice...

Hawthorn Brewing Co - Australian IPA recipe

Hi all, As someone relatively new to AG brewing (3 brews on) - I've not yet developed a palate capable of identifying the individual hop/malt flavours of this brew, so I was just wondering if anyone has some suggestions on a recipe to brew something similar to this tasty drop. I think I really...

Another 'first BIAB' help Dr Smurto's Golden Ale

I did this recipe as my first BIAB (electric urn) about 3 weeks ago, and the general advice I found suggested a 90 minute mash @ 66 degrees

cheapest birko 40l urn I found

FYI something worth noting is that the Crown urns National Homebrew sell have the cutout mod performed at the factory so it does not effect the warrant of the unit - well, it was something that was done to mine which I purchased from them about a month ago.... It's not something which was...

Does too much Caramalt = high FG?

Thanks QldKev! I had no idea I had to take the alcohol into consideration! Does too much Caramalt = high FG?

No worries - I wasn't planning to bottle until Sunday anyway, but was just concerned about bottling if it hadn't dropped any lower than 1.020

Does too much Caramalt = high FG?

Thanks for that. Currently sitting at around 18 degrees. I don't have a fridge yet so it's a bit tricky to regulate, but for the most part it's been hovering between 16-18 degrees. It certainly seemed to kick back into life after I racked it, but as of this morning it seemed pretty quiet

Does too much Caramalt = high FG?

Hi Guys and Gals, Apologies if this question has been answered before, but I've been unable to find anything conclusive. I did my first AG brew (BIAB) about 11 days ago, and it looks like fermentation might be finished now, however the FG looks to be pretty high (1.020). I did a slight...

More Beer! Heated and Cooled Conical Fermenter

FWIW (And getting a bit off topic) if the item you purchase is manufactured in the US, you can usually get the duty exempt due to the Aus/USA Free Trade Agreement. Chances are you'll have to pay the duty prior to it being released from Customs, but you can then claim it back via whomever did...
