    Pastic Bottle Bomb?

The only time I've seen one go was when we put half a cup of water and a few pellets of dry ice into one :D Makes one hell of a bang when they go off. Bottle shatters into tiny pieces and can be heard for miles. Good fun but be careful and stand WELL back. :excl: Cheers, Creedy

    The Wheatsheaf

Ah yes, the old days at the Wheaty! I used to live across the road when browny was the landlord, so close I could crawl home and not put holes in the jeans :D Like now, there was no pokies, no TAB and normally only a radio as the TV was often on the blink. 40 years worth of yellow nicotine...

To Dry Hop My Pale Ale Or Not?

Well, I'm reporting back in, brew worked out quite well, only problem was an unusual "plasticy" flavour, I initially didn't know what caused this but I think I've tracked it down to my poor rinsing of bleach based sanitizer from the fermenter. Oh well you live and learn. Other than that it was...

Fresh Wort Kits. Are They Any Good?

I believe Brewcraft stock them, at least it mentions them on the website. I've been tempted to try on myself. Cheers, Creedy

To Dry Hop My Pale Ale Or Not?

Haha, Kittens and chicken carcasses? They're ones that are not on my (large and increasing) list of things to investigate. But maybe I should think about it though, after all everyone loves kittens? maybe they could have more potential uses? Is this the secret to "Kemptown Black Moggy Mild"? and...

To Dry Hop My Pale Ale Or Not?

Thank Luka, good advise, I'll take a SG tonight and decide then. I'll let my taste buds do the hard work. They might as well get used to it anyway :) Cheers, Creedy

To Dry Hop My Pale Ale Or Not?

Good point about keeping balance between malt and hops. I'm not after a hop monster here, just a little extra boost. What would you suggest as far as amounts in my 20 litre brew? Cheers, Creedy

To Dry Hop My Pale Ale Or Not?

It's actually taken from a recipe by AndrewQLD for Coopers Pale Ale that a few people seemed to enjoy. Link I just gave it a slight English twist with some Nottingham yeast ;) and my thinking was to continue this a little further with the Styrian Goldings. Am I worried about strict adherence to...

To Dry Hop My Pale Ale Or Not?

Just put down my first BIAB on the weekend and all seemed to go well, except for hops blocking the tap on my urn, but that's another story :P The brew was a Pale Ale; 3.50 kg Pilsner 0.20 kg Wheat Malt 0.03 kg Crystal 120 0.65kg Dextrose 33g POR Flowers @ 60m 0.5 tab whirlfloc @ 15m...

Jao The Ultimate Beginners Mead Recipe

Hi guys, I was fascinated with this recipe so thought I'd give it a try. I went out to purchase a demijohn from (if you're in Adelaide) Gaganis brothers, a great shop by the way with lots of stuff for wine making and heaps of hard to get ethnic food supplies and herbs and spices in bulk, all at...

    Beating Those Grains

(Exits Lurking Mode) I'm also wondering about using home appliances for grain crushing. I've been considering using a coffee grinder aswell, but not one of the "spinny blade" types, one of the "conical burr" type grinders. Linky! $90 bucks for a cheap one, I've got a little hand one that I...
