What can of IPA and hops for first brew?

I reckon the Coopers IPA kit is the best option here. I use it for an American IPA, add a Kilo of Caramalt or Amber Malt, add 20g Chinook(pine) Boiled for 15 minutes & 15 Cascade(citrus) straight into the fermenter & 100g Corn Syrup. The biggest problem when starting out brewing is patience...

    Bottling With Glass

There's nowt wrong with a hand capper & a hammer. I've bottled about 10000 bottles that way & never broken one. Gone through about 5 cappers though. Twist tops , ring pulls, whatever, a coopers bottle top from the supermarket belted on with a hammer will last for years on the bottle.

    3 Kg Beer Kits

3kg kit are just add water to 20-21 litres. I prefer the 1.7 plus whatever you want to add , malt , hops etc. They are OK though. Have a go & see if your own mixes are better

    Morgan's Bishops Bitter 1.7kg

I made it with a kilo of Liq malt , 15g goldings hops & 150g corn syrup & filled it to 21.5 Lts. I've only tasted 1 stubbie after 4 weeks in the bottle. It was OK ,a little bland but pleasant enough. It should get a fiar bit better after 5 months whne I plan to start drinking it properly

    Muntons Ipa

Goldings would be fine. I dont normally suggest this but I think the muntons brews can take 23 ltrs. I fing them a little rich if you do a normal 20-21 ltrs

    Coopers Irish Stout

Never mind about a bit of spillage. the Coopers Irish Stout is a fine drop. Give it a kg of malt, about 15-20g of fuggles or goldings hops boiled for about 15 minutes,500g of lactose. fill it to about 20.5 ltrs & leave it for 4+ months & you've got a perfect milk stout. Cant go wrong..... unless...

    Stout Question

I dont think you need to worry too much about getting this like a guiness. This is a fantastic beer. I've made it 3 times with 1kg light liq malt , 500g lactose, 100g corn syrup & 14g goldings hops. Filled to 20 Litres & used the yeast supplied. Each time it's been silky smooth with a small fine...

Help ! I've Got Exploding Bottles

I'd love some advice on exploding bottles. I've had 2 stubbies & a king brown explode from the one batch. It's a tin of Coopers Pilsner with a kilo of liq malt & a little corn syrup. It fermented for 8 days at about 12min & 20 max degs. I didn't take a hydromter reading but it went into the...

    Spray Dried Hopped Malt

Has anyone used spray dried hopped malt ? I got some from the LHBS . It's not a bag of malt with a separate pack of hops , you cant see the hops at all. It's apparently imported from Muntons & @ $7.95 for 500g it's expensive. Anyway I bought one & added it to a coopers heritage lager with 500g...
