Hi Keeza,
With the ~3m wide trellis I have at the moment, I think that's really only enough
room for 3 different varieties, whereas all 5 pots have different varieties - I kind
of rushed in when I started growing them and bought too many without thinking
through enough.
Last summer was the first flowering season and the plants suffered a house move
and a couple of weeks of complete underwatering and I was probably lucky to even
get 3 solitary cones. This summer they got a bit underwatered again (drippers were
clogged) though growth is a lot better but maybe starting to not look promising as
I'm yet to see any flowers develop. Still, fingers crossed.
I'll know better if I ever get any flowers but I think probably at least a metre of
sideway space should be devoted to one variety (they can be in mre than one pot)
and pot needs to be as big as you can manage.
