23 Litre Bulk Priming Rate Chart

This chart is for calculating bulk priming sugar amounts for a 23 litre batch of beer without using a computer.

Example
If you wanted to carbonate to 2.5 CO2 volumes and you estimate the warmest temperature your beer was exposed to during the fermenting stage was about 18C, then you need to add 140g sugar to your beer.

If you have a batch of beer that is not 23 litres, the One Litre Bulk Priming Rate Chart would be easier to use.

What if you're using dextrose instead?
Then you need about 5% more by weight of dextrose than sugar but really, sugar is just as good to use as dextrose.

This chart is based on values derived from the AHB Bottle & Bulk Priming Calculator.
