Esky Mash Tun

1m stainless steel braid from a hot water hose.

I was able to (carefully) remove the compression fitting hose barbs from inside the hot water hose to fit the braid to the T.

The cunning observer may have picked up there is a brass barb on the front the esky too... that's because I rightly screwed the first SS braid, had to buy a new one and now have spare hose barbs - yay! :/
Hey mofox,

What is the advantage in using this braid over say BIAB and squeezing?
How do you sparge with the correct amount of water?
It looks as though I am doing it all wrong :(

Cheers

Ray

Neh - I'd say however you doing it is fine... you end up with beer don't you?

This is part of a 3v setup - so entirely not needed if you've got a working biab. The braid works the same as a false bottom or slotted pipe in other (3v) systems.

As for sparging, I used to measure out sparge water in a measured jug or bucket. Newest addition to the HLT is a sight glass... hopefully removing some of the finicky water measure stuff. That reminds me... should up some more photos.
