Chill times are not bad, but it depends on ground water temp, it pulls the initial temp out really well but water temp plays a big part in getting it down in the 20's prior to pitching, sometimes I recirculate ice water through it. Its 2 lengths of 3/8" copper tube, so a fair bit of surface area. I do BIAB so after the boil, I turn on the chiller and chill, then either take chiller out or leave it in, whatever, and let everything settle for up to an hour, then drain it into fermenter leaving most of the trub behind, works well
