Anyone catch the Jamie Oliver show last night? I did which demonstrates the deplorable programming situation, however it was worth the watch.
He found a beer cocktail for 18th century Sussex which he revived and I reckon it would be well worth a go.

Huckle my Buff (great name) consists of- 1 shot of Brandy, 1 beaten egg yolk and topped with around about 200ml of a smokey Porter. It then needs warming to about 50-60C, sprinkle of nutmeg and your done.

Next time I brew a Porter I will give this a go. If anyone else does or has tried this let us know how it went.

Isn't Brandy, Egg and Nutmeg part of Eggnog ?
(yes it is ~ http://mixthatdrink.com/eggnog/ )

I dunno, I guess the recipes Mr Oliver presents have been tested, reviewed, tweaked and sponsored ...

But ...

I'm still recovering from the Butter Beer we made, based on (can't remember) 16th/17th/18th century recipe.
I just couldn't violate an innocent beer like that again.
