I haven't made a kit beer in a while, but thought I'd post this for the benfit of regular K&Kers.
Due to time constraints I'm going to throw in a Coopers dark ale kit this weekend and was formulating a recipe based on the info I found here to calculate IBUs and such. After having a look on the coopers site I noticed a different method for calculating the IBUs as listed. I emailed coopers to query this and got this email back:
So it seems the correct way is calculate IBUs and such from the coopers kits using a weight/volume dilution

Yes, the method on the FAQs is correct. I was the one who gave the incorrect formula by email because I thought the values given to us from the Brewhouse were in vol/vol.
