Since I have been brewing with grains I have purchased three on three separate occasions East Kent Golding hop pellets.
The first lot were a bright pea green colour, the second lot were a green to brown colour and the third lot are more on the lines of the pea green colour again.
These hops were purchased from two separate suppliers so my questions are;

Are all these hops the same? ( my thoughts are "I dont think so")

How do you really know what you are getting when you order hops?

Any comments,

It sounds to me like the second lot were stale. Your hops should not be brown coloured.

Stale or exposed to light. I second Snow, hops should be green!
