Great new section Dane, thanks.

I was born in Yorkshire and grew up in Newcastle on Tyne. To my shock and amazement I just read this article in the Morning Advertiser (UK trade mag for pubs).

As a Pom I still can't get my head around this. It's a bit like reading about the Werribee Banana harvest or the King Island Paw Paw glut. Now tell me that this Globule Warming thing is a myth.

England has been growing wine grapes for quite a while. Sparkling grapes are picked much earlier when the sugar levels are lower and acid levels higher so cold climates are fine for these types of wine.

swede turnips and potatoes when I lived there :p (and haggis plantations of course)
