The wife has found a great recipe for Ginger Beer that we are going to brew on monday. The only problem is that the recipe asks for Champagne yeast, and all we could get was something recomended for a Lager

Will this affect the taste/outcome of the final product. It is her first attempt at a mash brew and she is worried that she doesnt have all the correct ingerdients

Hi Bricey,

Shouldn't have any worries about using a lager yeast. Champagne yeast is more attenuative and is going to give a drier finish than lager yeasts do.

Providing you're not making it to a super high gravity that would poop a lager yeast your wife's ginger beer should be fine.

Good to hear somebody who has a S/O that likes brewing too. :super:
