Being eaten is not like any other experience.
You can mentally prepare all you like but the reality is something different.
For me it was screaming and self preservation.
Still surf when ever it is breaking but get spooked easy brah...

Wow. You got nibbled?

Ive had one check me out but then swim under me and i never saw it again. That was a scramble straight onto the reef and i have never been so relieved to touch dry land. Never surfed that spot again.
