The Spring Carnival (horse racing) is always a good time to collect champagne bottles from kerbside recycle bins, but that's a while away. In the meantime you could also ask at local function venues where 21st birthdays, weddings etc are celebrated. They usually have truck loads of empties to get rid of. Good luck.
