I am tasting my first Lager, which happens to be my first attempt at beer without a recipe, and it is definitely drinkable.

80% Pills
15% Vienna
5% Carared
CZ Saaz at 60 mins to 25 IBU
Wyeast 2124 Bohemian Lager

Mashed at 65, Sparged at 75

Fermentation at 10* with a D-rest at 15*, Lagered at 1* for 4 weeks.

Worst beer I have ever made, yet it is better than any megaswill I have ever had.

Goes to show, mass produced beer is definitely cutting costs with ingredients.

Sorry, Been drinking and thought I would share my less than total failure.

My scales and thermometer have been broken in the same day. No worries, bucket is about 5kg grain, i used maths to get to strike (by mixing boiling water with cold water) and my hops scales were fine so i measured out some POR. Wasn't my proudest beer, but still better than any kit i'd made.

Going AG has allowed me to become very slack at times with my brewing and still turn out a beer that me and my mates will happily quaff.
