I don't know if you have seen this on the forum already but I just stumbled upon this sweet looking device for home brew wine. How cool would it be for a similar device for beer (with a smaller price tag!)

http://www.winepod.net/default.aspx?cid=2

It looks cool as well!

Nice. Very well marketed to the wine set :p

There is this unit for beer brewing.
It just doesn't include the fermentation components.

Beers,
Doc

At a quick look it looks the bling factor for BIAB type brewing PP was talking about yesterday.

The spiedel is a pretty sweet piece of gear. You are correct - it is pretty much a BIAB job, except automated. I think the mash schedule is programmable too. MHB had a couple in his shop a while back - around the $4k mark from memory.

Pretty sweet alright. Pretty penny too. I scouted around the .de site and converted a purchase price @ AU$2300. But then it's gotta get here doesn't it. :(

Looking over the Winepod again this morning.

SensorStick

SensorStick is an integrated Brix and temperature monitoring system. Through its on-board WirelessUSB controller, it collects and transmits data to your PC. The wireless radio transmits up to 100 meters and uses 3-AAA batteries. There is no need for messy wires. SensorStick will be marketed to the commercial wine industry starting in 2007.

Now that would be neat to be able to monitor the temp and gravity of your fermenting beer wirelessly.

mmmm Bulk Buy :beerbang:
