40 cm will 44 cm won't , unless I remove the door trim and replace it will something flat , I've done that before.
Wish they made 45 lt jobbies

I can't fit two 30 lt fermenters in the fridge , may try fermenting in a couple of my jerrys

And remember Batz, though sizes are without airlocks.

Diameter is the problem at this stage Doc

I am on the look out for a freezer like yours 500-700 lt for fermenting and a 300 lt for my bar.....and something heavy to hide under when SWMBO finds out !

Had to leave my last freezer over the West

PS Thanks for that Slugger

interesting question batz.personally i would tackle it from a real brewers perspective.
now what size fridge do i need to buy to fit around my new 60 litre fermenter.

remember rule 2 or was that 3.
your not a real brewer until you buy fridges to suit fermenters not the other way around. ;) :p

cheers

I thought the rule was you got what you could scronge, then complained about its imperfections, then when it died you'd done the necessary work to justify the expense of the unit you wanted in the first place :p

Batz.

I've seen some fridges where the brewers remove the inside door mouldings and shelves and just replace it with a sheet of plywood or something similar. This always seems to do the trick and will give you an extra bit of diameter.

On my old fridge it was always difficult to fit in two glass carboys at once. It lacks a bit of finesse, however I just took the hacksaw to my shelves and mouldings and cut them to a curve. Wound up with an ugly mess but at least the fermenters fitted in. :D

A ball pein hammer will achieve the same result in much less time.

I got the door shelf moulding out of mine without having to remove the rubber. Just screwed off. I found that it has a sheet of that flexible polystyrene stuff stuck inside anyway, so still insulated.

Can always run airlock remote via length of pvc hose, outside the fridge saves opening to check ferm activity and doesn't gas up the fridge/freezer.
