Whizard Smith

Some of us attending the HOPs meeting last thursday heard on the grapevine that Boags is about to discontinue their Whizard Smith's ale.
All to do with their having been bought out by Lion
Apparently it competes with other products in their range that they're more interesting in investing in (read JS).

Anyone else heard these rumours?

Yeah, it wasn't brilliant...

Good colour, but missing maltiness, late hopping and bitterness. Hopefully they are discontinuing it to bring back JS strong ale... that was decent.

yeah, i heard the same rumour. oh wait, i was there too B)
as others have said, it probably wont be missed too much. its good for a boags beer which sums it up for me. hopefully the places that have it on tap drop it for something of equal or higher quality.
