A friend of mine has asked me where she could get a hold of "White Elephant Chocolate Beer" I have never actually heard of it so I thought I might ask the wider beer loving community for some help.

She believes it is an import, and was wondering if it is available in Sydney?

Any help would be fantastic

maybe it really is a white elephant.

i googled several variations eg "white elephant chocolate beer" & "white elephant" "chocolate beer" & didn't turn anything up.

I did find a recipe for a beer called white elephant here, but it doesn't have any chocolate in it.

goodluck in the hunt.

Maybe she dreamed it up, like Home Simpson. :D

Homer: "Hey Apu do you have any of that beer? Skittle Brau"

Apu: "Mr Simpson no such beer has ever existed, I think you must have drempt it up".

Homer: "Ok then, just get me a six pack and a bag of Skittles".

By this rationale you could just put some chocolate in a bottle of Carlsberg Elephant beer.

I suspect she's talking about Florisgaarden Chocolat, brewed by Huyghe. Huyghe are the brewers of the Delerium beers, symbolised with a pink elephant.

I've certainly never heard of a white elephant brewery, and Carlsberg don't produce any chocolate beers as far as I know.

Oh, and I'm not sure if it's available in Sydney, however you can buy it from the IBS in Perth if you're game enough. I personally can't stand the crap! Tastes like a jaffa milkshake mixed with witbier, and I don't mean that in a good way!
