Thinking about puttin down a cider. Will just use a kit probably the black rock one. Not sure on yeast was thinking wyeast cider yeast. Anyone used it or recommend a better yeast for the job.
I like a dry cider but refreshing

Cheers
Josh

forget the kit, just grab some juice from supermarket (I got 2x3L berri for 5$), and a saf 04. total won't be much more than 20 bucks and it will be 1000 times better than the dry as buggery kit. just put this down myself last month and it is a great one to have in the fridge

Berri. Might have to give it a go. Is the 04 the more English style ale yeast? I can't remember havnt used much other than 05 and the lager 23

I recently did an apple and blackcurrant cider with juice from ALDI and some champagne yeast.

The juice was $1/litre and the yeast was $4.

I used 12 litres of apple juice and 10 litres of apple and blackcurrant juice.

In hind sight I would probably use less blackcurrant.

The OG was 1.049 and the FG was something like 1.002.

It was dry as hell!

I sweetened it with a litre of apple juice once in the keg.

Looks like the juice is the go. Is champagne yeast what little creatures use in pipsqueak it reminds me a lot of champagne
