These units have 2 elements: 1x 1800w and 1x 600w,giving a total of 2400w heating capacity.

Since a short occurred (tripped the mains power!) the urn has been heating water extremely slowly, and can't bring it to a boil. I have taken the urn apart and there's no problem with the thermostat or temp probe or anything else, it just seems like one of the elements had conked out (most likely the 1800w)

Which brings me to my next point, any ways to save this? The urn is brand new and has never been used for brewing. The company I bought it from has already sent a new urn to replace it, but I'd like to fix this one anyway.
Suggestions?

What do these elements look like. Are the concealed or exposed?

Post on the UK forums and you should get a reply. The Buff is the default urn over there. Shouldn't be too much for postage.

Concealed.

I'll do that Bribie, but I'm also trying to think of uses for it as-is, SS fermenter maybe?
