What genre does Wheat beer come under?

Ale, lager or just wheat beer?

main reason i'm asking is coz i want to find out what is the best fermenting temps for wheat beer?

cheers,

Wheat beers are usually under a Wheat category.
They are also generally Ales (Wit, Weisse, Weizen, Weizenbock).

Wheat beers fall into that depends category.
The dependancy is on the yeast and what flavours you want to come through in the beer. If you use something like WhiteLabs WLP300 Hefeweizen yeast and you don't want the clove, banana style flavours then ferment at the lower temp ~18. If you do want those flavours to be pronouned then 21-22 degC.
