Over here the only Aussie craft beer that I believe is well represented is Little Creatures (thanks to Lion unfortunately).

Which NZ beers are available, or have a following, on the other side of the tasman? I've seen some Epic recipes posted here, but not many of the others?

And which ones have I forgotten?

We get Yeastie Boys, 8wired, Croucher, Renaissance, Moa, Epic, Emersons and Croucher - but none very widely, only at specialist bottle shops and the like.

Macs is the only one that's easy to get, again due to Lion.

Every 8wired beer I have had has been fantastic.

Damn, knew i'd forgotten at least one, and that it was bound to cause offence...... sorry !
and now it won't let me add another option. 8 wired is indeed a fine drop.

Three Boys IPA is m favourite beer (and close to my ALL TIME favourite)...

8 Wired is amazing. As is Renaissance. And Moa is becoming a favourite too..

Harringtons for me is a bit blah...

and I actually dont like Epic's beers...

It sucks, I want to try MORE NZ beer...I pretty have only tried Mac's...hmmmm I might drop into First Choice on the way home and see if I can spot any of these guys

Lovin' the new signature Adam! We aren't exactly spoilt for choice in the Goldy are we. I am in some ways glad however, as it has made me more intent on homebrewing as I just can't get all these great beers! arrrghhh!
All of you from real city centres, you are all indeed very lucky. And anyone who lives near the International beer shop in Perth. You suck...

nahhh just kidding.. can we be besties???

;)

Fresh Epic Hop Zombie is my favourite NZ beer along with Tuatara Imperial APA.

8Wired are probably the most consistant in producing excellent beer. It's a bit of a hard choice to say which one I like more than the other.

You can probably get it cheaper that we can.

8wired do some amazing beers, I would say they are up there in terms of ranking. Yeastie Boys would defintely be up there too, tis a shame they only do 330ml bottles though... I like my 500's.

I buy a lot of Epic, huge fan of the Hop Zombie. Zythos is pretty good too, think my next brew will be a single hopped using Zythos.

8wired iStout is spectacular, definitely give it a go if you can get it. Must be a reason why its featured in Beersmith!

I have actually found since starting home brewing I am spending more on beer... For the same price I used to pay for 12 bottles I am getting 2. It's hard when you have a taste for good beer. I put it all down to research and inspiration for my brewing though so it's ok ;)

I voted epic because of Hop ZOmbie, I am hoping this years incarnation is as good as lasts
eh bro

+1 on that i find myself goin at least once a week and dropping $30ish on 2 or three beers, it gets expensive. on that note tho got a 2012 hop zombie in the fridge at the moment as well as a first batch epic nz ipa looking foward to crackin them on the weekend.

Tall Poppy and Hopwired from 8wired are go to weekly beers for me. I also like Hop Zombie but it's almost gone again.
Croucher has a great Pils and the Patriot is brilliant, so is the Galaxy IPA and the Double D IRA (Simcoe,Citra and Galaxy).

I would buy the new incarnation of Epic Pale Ale the most also the Mash Up. Used to get the Armageddon alot but not too much as it varies a bit in quality.

8 Wired Superconductor is a brilliant beer that will have a limited bottle run shortly and may make it over to your side of the ditch.
Also tuatara make great beers (Pils and Porter are tops).

Yeastie boys are good. (Love Gunnamatta, Digital IPA).

Only beer I would buy from Moa is the McMoa IIPA which beat out the Armageddon and other great beers in NZ beer comp a few years back.

I wish Liberty was an option as C!tra is the best NZ beer going. Just a shame there are not enough hops to make more at present...

8 Wired. HopWired original and fresh are my (and the missus') two favourite beers. Soren is an amazing brewer.

8 Wired and Epic. Have not tried a bad beer from either. I can't say that about too many Australian breweries. Hop zombie is unreal, though I can understand why some would say it is a little under-bittered.

1 vote - Renaissance (their Pale ale on hand pump in Albar, Dunedin, was nectar !)

2 votes - Yeastie Boys. Definately not run of the mill, a bit like a Kiwi version of Moon Dog. Great beers.

3 votes - Epic. Just...errrm....epic beers !

Here's a few beauties I brought back from a recent trip to Queenstown and Dunedin.
