I just bought a new 2nd fridge, and was wondering if i could brew in the fridge. I would have to test what its highest temp would be, but would guess it to be about 5 or 6 deg. Is this too cold to brew at?
And i am sure my Mrs does not want me mucking around with the new fridge by adding a new thermostat to to it.

You can brew lagers around that temp...

2 things tho...keep the temp at around 18-22 for 24 - 48 hours...allow good live yeast nymbers to build up.

next place fermenter in fridge and let it naturally drop down to 6-8 degrees. Fermenting will take longer - leave for 3-4 weeks and rack to secondary and dry hop and leave for another 4 - 6 weeks.
You may need to do a diacetyl rest - take fermenter out of fridge and let it rise back to room temp over 4 days.

Then bottle/bulk prime by racking into a bottling bucket and then job done.

A beutifull lager. i want to try brewing an ice bock like this one day.

Beerboy, 5-6 degrees is a little low for most lager yeasts.
Check what the fridge temp is with a thermometer. 9-12 degrees would be ideal.

Cheers and bollocks
