It seems to be the time of year now to put down a special crowd pleasing brew for Xmas day if your gonna have the rellies over.

being in QLD, I'm sure its going to be hot as hell, I'm thinking a crisp czech pilsner might go nicely with my prawns and ham this year!

what are you brewing for santa??

Bottled a batch of weizen a week ago and primed the bottles with cherry juice(fresh cherries from the orchard...I live in the cherry capital) and white sugar.

Hoping for some fresh chrissy feel..

For the GoldClub's Xmas comp I made Chimay Noel aka Anal Leakage.

It has 700g of prunes in it. I need a warning label about excessive consumption.

For Christmas I have a Nelson and Amarillo IPA.

For Christmas Day we will provide lunch for:

1. Daughter Dear and Husband (known on here as Beerisyummy)
2. Father-in-Law
3. Mrs warra's Brother and Wife
4. Mrs warra and warra48

I'm getting a free ham from my vets golf club, so I'll be baking a glazed ham on the Weber. Daughter dear doesn't eat the 3 little pigs, so she'll have to nibble on a turkey buff. Salads to go with all this.

As for beer, whatever is in my beer cellar, no special brews as such, although I just bottled an APA this afternoon, which should be just about right for Christmas day.

Might also look in my wine cellar. A 2002 Mitchell Riesling and a 2000 Elizabeth Semillon are possibilities. Might even crack a red frrom 1995 or 1996, but only if Beerisyummy is willing to share the bottle with me (no good wasting an aged red on philistines).

It's our second Xmas up here and away from the relo's :D

I have a American Amber with all falconers flight hops, a nice dry Saison, half a keg of vanilla bourbon porter and I think I might squeeze in a yanky dark ale next weekend.

I'm ready to keg my "destroyed the false bottom" pumpkin ale some time next week and in anticipation of the 4 lb of 2012 northern hemisphere hops I've ordered, I'm brewing a clean-out IPA tomorrow to reduce the volume of hops currently stored in my freezer.

450g@45L IPA sounds like a fair amount of hops! :chug:

Moby Wheat, two if I can pump them through

50/50 Ale and Wheat Malts to about 5%

Magnum or anything bitter for 60 mins
Cascade late hop

All to about 30 IBU

American Ale 2

Looks like VB, tastes a bit like Fat Yak or some equivalent "entry level" ale. I also like it.
I made the mistake of doing Vienna Lagers etc which were dutifully sipped until Terry or Johhno arrived with the VB "anyone for a VB?"

Feeding frenzy <_<

Ive got two beers already brewed for xmas that are ready next week with two spare cubes to adjust if needed.

Both midstrength, blonde ale and amber ale/could be classed as standard bitter. (got a spare cube so throw it on some Essex yeast for good consumptions sake.

If I've got time im thinking a weizen for new years.

Witbier, Aussie lager and Pils.
I must attend a work party tonight with the bar stocking such wonderful drops as:
Carlton
VB
Emu
Hahn
and for something really different, Millers.

Plan
Shotgun first three cans, show the youngsters how it's done. Then I'm sure everything will be ok.....

Cheers

Jabuticaba Belgian Wit.
:icon_offtopic: Sorry.
Wow I thought that we were the only ones with Jabuticaba trees. My kids pretty much suck those off the trees along with the flying foxes.
