Morning all,

So I bought some Mandarina Bavaria on a whim, to try something different, then realised I should have had a plan for what to do with them first, as they seem to be quite a unique hop.

I feel like they should go in something wheaty, and really want to get a feel for what they bring so am doing a single hop recipe. The recipe I have come up with doesn't really fit any style, so just wondering how others would classify it? It seem like half-way between an APA, IPA and american wheat.... either way, I think it will be tasty.

My first thought was 'Summer Ale'...?

Mandarina Bavaria is fairly citrusy, so I reckon that'd suit the style.

Yeah I guess so, maybe it falls into specialty category, simply because it doesn't fit well into anything else... has anyone had much experience with these hops? I know there was a thread a while back using them in a saison, but I'm not inclined to drink a whole batch of saison...

looks like it would fit the American Wheat guideline (roughly)

Vital Statistics:
Refreshing wheat that can display more hop character and less yeast character than their German cousins
Often 50% or more wheat
OG: 1.040 – 1.055
IBUs: 15 – 30
FG: 1.008 – 1.013
SRM: 3 – 6
ABV: 4 – 5.5%
