I feel your pain Kman. I've been through a number of cars, all of which were not my fault.
I got my first car stolen and written off (in a cop chase mind you so she went out in a blaze of glory!). That was a '76 Escort in smick condition, as was yours. Sad to see it destroyed.
Bought a replacement with the insurance pay out, a nice VH commodore-just standard but once again absolutely A1. Had that for 3 weeks after my stolen one then it was hit in the packing spot where my old car was stolen from by a drunk driver who had a mate on his bonnet doing a bit of bonnet surfing. They were gunning it and came around the corner and the guy on the bonnet fell over (still on bonnet) and the driver couldn't see where he was going and swung too wide on the corner and hit my car. Sandwiched it between 2 other cars, guy on the bonnet flew 20m down the road and only had a bit of gravel rash on his hands (how I don't know?

). Another write off.
Bought a replacement, got all my bumpers and side strips stolen.
Sold and bought another one. Just recently I caught this little pissed bloke doing a flying kick through my drivers side window at 3am. I piss bolted outside and scruffed his mates so I could get the little b@$t@rd to pay and his mates ran and hid in my house because he came out with a meat cleaver and a 12" carving knife saying "I sorry, I sorry". The length of stainless pipe I quickly grabbed was enough to persuade him not to come any closer (he was trying to come inside my house) until the cops arrived-while he still had the knifes-it was cool, the s$%t went down.
My sympathies kman. I feel like me and cars just dont mix. Maybe you could spend the insurance money on brewing gear and just walk from now on

.
Cheers, Justin
