Sorry It may have been covered before, but I couldn't find it.

Does anyone else weight their water to get the exact amounts. Bought a 150kg scale for the HLT as running with electric. nice and accurate!

I did use to weigh my water on an analog bathroom scale and it worked fine to about the nearest half kilo. With a good quality digital set you should be fine down to whatever resolution the scales will give you. There are a few factors which might make perfect measurement futile, like variations in boil off rate for one, but i can't see the harm in starting from a reasonably accurate measurement.
 
Sorry, struggling a little. Here is a link to the unit I bought. (I'm not managing to post a pic of my own, I'm sure I'll figure it our).
 
This is with out a doubt the weirdest thread I have seen in nearly ten years on this forum.
