This happens to me a lot:

    Use Case:
    • Create a post with a few pasted URLs
    • URLs are just pasted into the text, not via the [Link] button

    Expected Result:
    • Message / Post is created with all URLs becoming active web-browser links.
    Actual Result:
    • Some of the links just disappear from the text of the post, as if they never were.
    Workaround:
    • Edit the post, put the link back in.

I suspect it might just be that the last link is removed.
The few times I've posted things with links there's been two, the 2nd link always disappears.

System: Firefox 50.1.0 on Ubuntu Linux x64 (fully patched and updated), generously-spec'd software engineering workstation.

Yeah, it doesn't happen all the time. Maybe it's something to do with the parsing of the link URL.

I figured the link button was for when you want to hide the URL as irrelevant to the conversation.

Ok, so just a few seconds ago I posted a message with this link: with some text after it.

It was in the body of the text, not at the beginning or end.

Everything went OK, except the link did not appear in the post - as if I'd never pasted it.

Ok, if you type more text after the link, it stuffs up.

    This is OK: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/AC220V-2000W-Stainless-Steel-Electric-Water-Heating-Element-Tubular-Heater-/331639754995
And this: ISN'T (is the link there, before "ISN'T"?)

EDIT: Just for the record, and to make it clear ~

*Sometimes* when you post a message with a link pasted or typed in (not through the [link]) button, and when there's more text typed after the link, the message parser will eat that URL as if it was never typed or pasted. The URL parser should stop as soon as it sees a space (or other non-valid URL character), which it does correctly, because it junks the URL exactly.

When I go to edit the above post, I don't see the missing link referred to. Usually when something such as what you are describing (other places) I can see what does not show, if I go to edit.

So, that link is totally gone, not just invisible to the regular view.

What computer, and windows version and browser are you using? Has this always happened? Have you just upgraded anything?

    Anyone else having this happen?

Oh, and the link icon can be used all the time, not just to get a link out of the way.

    PC is: i7-3930K CPU @ 3.20GHz (6 core), 32G RAM, Ubuntu 16.04 + all patches.
    Browser is Firefox 50.1.0.

It it hasn't always been doing it, it's been at it for more than a year. At first I thought it was just me.
I'll see if I can replicate it under Windows7 + Firefox

I'll look forward to seeing if it replicates under Windows and Firefox,
