I have seen a few weevils in the grain I'm crushing for a brew tonight.

Will the crushed weevils affect the fermenting process/beer at all, even after a 60min mash & 60min boil? Or will they just add a little more protein?

Thanks guys :)

Hi Brewer 010

I have had weevils in the grain the past. Have never had a problem.

Cheers

I just realised that I had named this beer 'critter ale' (a kind of LCPA clone) - I must have had a premonition that something like this was going to happen...

So in they go! Boil the bejeezus out of 'em!

remember to chew them thoroughly

You lucky lucky *******! I never get free weevils in my grain.
