Upgrading Birko Urn element.

Using a 1800watt 5l Birko urn as a hx. Looking to upgrade the element for quicker ramp. Anyone have experience with replacing these elements. Are any of the 40mm hole elements available compatible?

Not replaced one but I have thought about something like this http://www.centraloutlet.com.au/products/water-immersion-heater together with the inbuilt element.

I use one of these. Awesome piece of kit.

I use it for heating 65L to strike temp for BIAB and in the boil with gas (saves gas).

Very handy. Check Ebay, will get one cheaper than that. I paid about $100 even.

Another vote, if you have the power to run 2 elements, get a second element.
