hi I am doing a toucan and used both yeasts because last time I used one yeast and nearly blew lid off because the yeast could believe its luck and went nuts. Could double pitching cause any issues? And will it take half the time to ferment out. 3 days at 20 (23 l draft ) seems to have slowed...I don't want to leave it too long on year bed if finished. Cheers

All other things being equal 2 yeasts should have blown the lid off even more. The packs under the cap are pretty small so I think it's unlikely that you overpitched.

Ferment time won't be half, doesn't really work that way. It actually sounds like you've got a less vigorous fermentation this time if it didn't blow the lid. Maybe slightly cooler ferment temps? Have you taken hydrometer readings?

Hi 1055 last time I did toucan with one yeast it went crazy. Think if under pitching creates more action? Anyway I was reading about double pitching over pitching creates other issues with flavour? But I don't think the pitch is over...

Arent the yeast packs 7g each? If so, 14g total sounds fine for 23L of 1055 wort. In fact that still feels a little under but I haven't done the maths sorry. I think you're ok
