Is it possible to enable thread preview with this forum software? If one hovers the mouse pointer over the thread topic, the only information displayed is creation date... it would be good to have a preview of the topic to determine if clicking on it is necesary.

It's a useful tool for making browsing faster, especially for the poor suckers on dialup.

I know Dane is looking to upgrade the board software to the latest version, however I'm not sure if this is a feature thought.

Dane ?

I'm going to apologise for my nit-picking in advance for this and my next post.

Is it possible to have it active after clicking "view all new posts..." in the top right pane, or have we reached a limitation of the software?

Here's me going on about Topic Preview once again Dane... With the site upgrade, I've noticed one thing that is annoying - when previewing a topic, superimposed on the preview pane is the "topic created on..." pane which takes quite a few seconds to disappear before the first line of the preview pane can be read.

Is it possible to disable the creation date, or perhaps move that pane slightly higher than the preview pane?

Thanks and keep up the sensational work.

I didn't want to remove that 'topic created on' code as it's a new feature in the forum and allows us mods to quickly edit a title in the forum, etc.

However i think i've worked out something that will fix it for you NRB.

I just dropped the preview box down a bit so the preview pane is below the topic created highlight.

Grouse work Dane,

Its heaps better not overlaying each other but still having both features. Good form!

Cheers,

JS

Sorry to bring this thread up again, but how do you switch thread preview off? I find it very annoying.

Cheers,

-- Dean :)

I would also like to know how to disable the mouse over preview,
it is a bit distracting,
thanks,
Al.

I think it's a useful feature, but it doesn't work properly in Safari.

Fortunately I usually only browse by "view all latest threads" so don't see it often.
