According to my manual calculations I just achieved 32ppg from my latest mash. but according to hdb.org/recipator it works out at 95% efficiency, which for a third full mash is a bit of a big claim.
I ended up with 27 litres @ 1.052 (temp adjusted) from 5kg of grain using the batch sparge method.
Any thoughts on this one?

Those calcs don't seem off. Was the 27 before the boil?

Also, I am waiting to see your label for an Imperial Pale Ale: Vlad's Impaler

First tip my viking friend is do your manual calcs in metric.
instead of 37ppg or whatever use the malt specs from the maltcraft site.
37 is around 318 HWE in metric.
Its the same calc method only in litres and kilos.
ie KGS x HWE / litres.
but thats a different subject.
back to your unreal effeincy i can't see how you did it unless you used a grain with a high potential but used a much lower potenial for the calcs.
still going over that you got very good extraction either way.
I find batch sparging to be very good as you don't need to worry about channeling of the sparge water which could actually lead to a better effiency.

Anyway i have no real answers for you. But keep up the good work.
