I put a cider down on the weekend and was getting a little concerned that the yeast may not have been up to par as I was seeing bugger all action in the fermenter. Well, I couldn't have been more wrong. I got home last night to find the air lock covered in scum. She'ld blown out big time. There was even a bit of scum on wall behind the fermenter  . Wish I had seen it.

This has never happened to me before and I'm not sure if the cider will be ok now. Can you guys advise if it will be drinkable. Should I just leave it going or do I need to do anything to salvage it?

Mate, it'll be fine. Just top up the air lock with some sanitary solution and let it go. The pressure from the CO2 generation will keep any nasties out.
